A Consultation with a leading Reproductive Medicine Consultant and appropriate tests for evaluation of your reproductive health, whether you are planning for a family now or in the future.
About 1 in 7 couples in the UK have difficulty conceiving and require assistance to achieve their dream of becoming parents. Choosing the right fertility clinic and supportive team can be a difficult decision for you to make.
At JIVA Fertility, we offer comprehensive care delivered by experts, who have knowledge and many years of experience in reproductive medicine, to support you on your journey to parenthood. Our team will put you at the heart of your personalised treatment programme and support you at every stage of your journey.
A referral letter either by your GP or any specialist is helpful but is not essential. Your GP may be able to support you by arranging some of the infertility investigations on the NHS before your appointment. If you have already had some tests, we advise you to bring a copy of the results for your first appointment. After your clinic appointment, we will send you a clinic letter summarising the consultation and we encourage you to send a copy of the letter to your GP.
We encourage you to attend the clinic appointment with your partner if you are in a relationship.
We appreciate that coming to a Fertility Clinic for the first time can be daunting. The following information will help you familiarise with the process:
- During your first consultation, we conduct an in-depth review of your medical and fertility history for a comprehensive understanding of your health that will helps us to identify potential factors affecting fertility and we tailor diagnostic tests accordingly.
- Check your height and weight and measure the Blood Pressure.
- We will conduct a detailed transvaginal (internal) ultrasound scan (if this is not included in the chosen Assessment Package, addition fees apply)
- If there are no contra-indications, a tubal patency test (HyCoSy) will be performed if included in the Assessment Package. Sometimes, this may be deferred until the next appointment.
- We will discuss the results of any fertility tests that you have already had either through JIVA Fertility or elsewhere. If you have chosen one of our Assessment Packages, these tests would have been arranged for you at least TWO WEEKS before your appointment.
- Further tests may be needed to reach a diagnosis, which will be discussed with you and requested/arranged, as appropriate. We have designed our Assessment Packages in such a way that in most circumstances we will be able to advise you on the same day of your appointment, of your future options.
- We will answer all your queries in detail to ensure that you leave feeling informed and reassured.
- We offer patient support counselling to assist you in your journey recognising emotional challenges of infertility and fertility treatment.
To book your first consultation, please email hello@jivafertility.co.uk or complete the form on our website - A member of our team will get back to you.
